This is a must. Do not go to a game without doing this. Ever. Grab 5 friends, have them call 5 friends and then all of you pitch in for some BBQ, beer, and fun. Mack Brown promised he’d join in on the fun this upcoming season.

Take an even more interesting swim at Hippie Hollow

OK. This is not for everyone, but it’s better to do it when you’re still young, stupid, and not so wrinkled. Known as Austin’s “nude beach”, this rocky shoreline is Texas’ only clothing optional public park. Warning: you’ll see naked old hippies.

Make Rainey Street your weekend ritual

The better alternative to Dirty 6th (which is now best left to tourists), Rainey Street is the calmer, nicer place to get a good drink with your fellow Longhorns. Not only do you have good bars, but you’ve got some descent trailer food going on here.

Relax at Zilker Park

This is Austin’s Central Park. It’s good for studying, walking your dog around, and taking it all in the summer (Blues on the Green) or winter (for the Zilker Trail of Lights). Do yourself a favor and go.
